MONTREAL – Some transit fares in the Greater Montreal Area are increasing by two per cent this fall.

The Regional Metropolitan Transport Authority unveiled its new price list Thursday, increasing the monthly fare for the STM from $86.50 to $88.50 and the monthly rate for TRAM 1 from $100 to $102.

The prices of single-use fares will not change including for the one-way EXO fare, the Longueuil Transport Network, the STM, and Laval’s transport authority, as well as the one-way tickets with TRAM and TRAIN.

The ARTM will also be offering two new tickets: an unlimited evening pass from 6 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next day for $5.50 and an unlimited weekend pass from Friday 4 p.m. to Monday 5 a.m. for $14.25.

The fare increase, which is normally scheduled for July, was pushed to come into effect Oct. 1 amid the pandemic.

The ARTM says the increase is comparable to previous years.
