Three new facilities opening for vulnerable amid pandemic

MONTREAL – Three new facilities are opening for the city’s most vulnerable amid the pandemic.

The Royal Victoria Hospital, Complexe Guy-Favreau, and the former YMCA site in Hochelaga will be open for the homeless until at least end of March 2021. A total of 850 people could be accommodated in the three sites and 200 additional beds will be added during the winter months.

The Plante administration says the three centres serve as additional help until the pandemic ends and a transition back to regular resources follows.
