MONTREAL (CityNews) ─ Sometimes love can feel earth-shattering. Or is it glass-shattering? How about ego-shattering?
Well for one Montreal couple, it may just be all three.
In a video circulating widely on social media, a pair of lovers can be seen kissing amorously outside a business on the newly renovated St-Hubert St. As they lean back against a glass door, that’s when things go terribly wrong.
“It was just a pure accident of pure love,” Mikey Rose, the co-owner of Savvy Barbershop told CityNews.
With a crash, the pair fall through the business’ front door, sending shards of glass tumbling to the ground with them.
What seems to be a feeling of embarrassment is quickly followed by an exit, stage left. The man is the first one to walk away, leaving the woman on the ground to fend for herself. She jogs after him a few seconds later.

The video was taken from security camera footage outside the business, Savvy Barbershop.
The owners posted the short clip of the funny incident to their Facebook page with the caption “Love Hurts” on Monday.
They even cleverly tacked on the credit music to HBO’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” a song often used to underscore moments of embarrassment or sheer awkwardness.
This moment had a bit of both.
“I just want to know what happened,” said Rose. “Actually, I want to know what happened after because I think that’s what we’re all wondering is once you left, how did the rest of your day go?”
A subsequent post on Savvy Barbershop’s page read: “This escalated quickly. This went viral! Now I think we gotta meet this couple, can the internet find them?” with a few laughing emojis.
The barbershop owners clearly took the incident − and the inadvertent free publicity − in stride, poking light fun at the couple’s misadventure.
They even hung a lighthearted commemorative frame outside the store using some of the shards of glass, the date and the “Love Hurts” motto.
Rose said nothing was taken from the shop.
