Montreal police are asking for the public’s help in locating Menachem Mendel Cohen – in connection with an incident at the Jewish General Hospital.

A warrant has been issued for the 26-year-old on charges that include possession of an imitation weapon and various other misdemeanors.

On August 9, around 5:50 p.m., Cohen was reportedly in front of the Jewish General Hospital and pulled out a BB gun. He reportedly pointed it at the sky, put it back on his belt and entered the hospital. Police responded to a 911 call at approximately 6:30 p.m. The suspect had already left the scene before they arrived.

Half an hour later, the suspect allegedly shot at a residence located on Carlton Ave., near the hospital, in the Côte-des-Neiges-NDG borough. Pellets were found at the scene. Videos from surveillance cameras as well as meetings with witnesses confirm that the suspect is the same for both incidents.

There were no injuries reported for either event.
