18-year-old dies in Anjou shooting

An 18-year-old was killed in a shooting in Anjou Sunday night.

It happened at around 10 p.m. on Hérisson Avenue, near Highway 25.

“When police officers arrived on site, they located a man aged of 18 years old that was shot at least once to his upper body. That man was rushed to the hospital where he was unconscious during his transport. Unfortunately he was pronounced dead at the hospital, which makes the sixth murder to occur on the island of Montreal,” said Jean-Pierre Brabant, SPVM spokesperson.

The victim was on the sidewalk when shots were fired from a vehicle driving by.

“The information that we were gathered by different witnesses seems like a vehicle to approach the victim. And at some point, one of the people that was inside the vehicle shot in the direction of the victim and left by that. So for now, we’re looking for that vehicle. There was an investigation that was opened that was transferred to the major crime unit of the Montreal police.”
