Montreal will be feeling hot, hot, hot this week

By CityNews Staff

While the first half of July has been a wet month for most of the province, the first week of Quebec’s construction holiday is shaping up to be a hot one.

Those who are on vacation should definitely head for the beach, as the UV Index is expected to be very high and temperatures are expected to climb steadily throughout the week.

Environment Canada forecasting sunny and highs of 29 degrees for the beginning of the week, with a 30 per cent of afternoon thunderstorms. A humidex of 35 and a UV Index of 7 or higher.

By Wednesday and Thursday heat warnings may be issued as the temperatures reach 30 degrees but may feel more like 38 degrees.

Wear sunscreen, stay hydrated, and keep out of sun during peak mid-day hours.

Wednesday will see a mix of sun and cloud with a 60 per cent chance of showers.

Temperatures are expected to cool off by the weekend, reaching highs in the mid twenties.
