Husband and wife found dead in Montreal apartment with gunshot wounds: police

By News Staff

A 70-year-old man and 71-year-old woman were found dead Wednesday morning in a Montreal apartment – with gunshot wounds.

On Thursday, Montreal police (SPVM) confirmed the pair were husband and wife, but had no further details.

“These are two suspicious deaths involving firearm in a domestic context,” said Véronique Dubuc, spokesperson for the SPVM on Wednesday afternoon. “For the time being no further information will be released in order not to interfere with the investigation.”

A call was made to 911 at around 9 a.m. and emergency services headed to a second-floor apartment on Frontenac Street, near Sherbooke Street east – where they made the discovery.

“When the police officer arrived at the apartment, they found two people deceased, a man and a woman,” said Antony Dorélas, SPVM spokesperson.

An investigation is ongoing.
