Final day of 2024 Presidents Cup at Royal Montreal

It’s the final round of the Presidents Cup at the Royal Montreal Golf Club where Team U.S.A. and the International Team are squaring off in this prestigious PGA match play tournament.

For golf fans, this is their opportunity to see the world’s best golfers up close in Montreal.

The International Team is looking to put a stop to Team U.S.A’s dominant run of nine consecutive wins at this event that takes place once every two years.

Many fans here are showing their support for the International squad captained by Canadian golf legend Mike Weir.

Team U.S.A at this year’s Presidents Cup also has an elite group of 12 players including Scottie Scheffler, the world’s top ranked golfer.

This event also has fan zones on the golf course that include food options from Montreal neighbourhoods such as the Mile End, Griffintown and Mont-Royal.

In the end though, the estimated 30-thousand fans that have been taking in the golf tournament each day are here to see the world’s best golfers and to find out if the International Team can finally beat Team U.S.A and win their first Presidents Cup since 1998.

Team USA leads the International Team 11-7 going into the final round.

The winning team needs 15.5 points to win — there are 12 points up for grabs today in the 12 singles matches.
