Emergency response team members from the Montreal police (SPVM) visited patients at the Montreal Children’s Hospital on Friday.
An officer dressed in his SWAT uniforms was accompanied by superheroes as they rappelled down the walls of the hospitals and windows.
Two officers and the Flik mascot also handed out stuffed animals to children inside the hospital.
Spiderman and Deadpool posed and wowed the crowd of onlookers while the tactical team wrapped their final day of training.
“The vertical operations team just finished its four-week training. And on the last day of our four week training, we wanted to finish it on a building like this. We have to be able to acclimate the vertical operations unit on every type of structure that you would have in the city that we have to go help someone who would be in need of our assistance,” said Sébastien Chartier, Commander of the Tactical Unit, Montreal police.
“The tactical team is very happy to be there today. It’s very different from what we do every day, so it helps us combine, and it brings us closer to kids and to the community, which is really important for what we do,” said Chartier.
After the superhero’s ascended they greeted the kids on the floor.
“Just hearing the kids laugh and smile, it was pretty clear how happy everyone was with what they saw today,” said Chartier.
