Massive power outage leaves thousands without power in Montreal’s West Island

Hydro-Quebec announced on their website that there have been 31 outages that affected about 62,321 customers, mostly in Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Dorval, Kirkland, St-Laurent, Pointe-Claire, Pierrefonds-Roxboro, and Île-Bizard—Sainte-Geneviève, on Monday evening. 

The cause is due to an equipment failure at the hydro station on Source Boulevard.

Hydro-Quebec is still working on figuring out what caused the failure.
