Shot fired during snow removal operation: Montreal police

By The Canadian Press

A conflict between three people over a vehicle being towed during a snow removal operation escalated into gunfire on Tuesday night in the Pointe-aux-Trembles borough.

Montreal police (SPVM) received a call to 911 around 9:45 p.m. about the incident on Forsyth Street, near the intersection with Tricentenaire Blvd.

“The suspect fired at least one shot in the direction of the victims,” said SPVM spokesperson Antony Dorélas.

There were no reported injuries, but a 19-year-old man was treated by first responders for shock.

Officers arrested a 39-year-old man at the scene.

Police suspect that he was the owner of the vehicle that was going to be towed and he is expected to meet with SPVM investigators.

“He could face charges of armed assault and discharging a firearm,” said Dorelas.

A security perimeter has been set up and the investigation is ongoing.
