Deadly crash in Saint-Leonard: 76-year-old woman killed

On Monday, a 76-year-old woman lost her life in a two-vehicle collision in the borough of Saint-Leonard in Montreal.

A 911 call was made at around 1:45 p.m. regarding a collision between two vehicles at the intersection of Boulevard Langelier and Bélanger Street.

According to initial information, one vehicle was traveling northbound on Langelier Boulevard and was attempting to make a left turn westbound onto Bélanger Street when it collided with a vehicle traveling southbound on Langelier Boulevard.

Following the impact, the driver of the first vehicle exited her car to meet the other driver, but she collapsed to the ground.

The 76-year-old victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition, where she was later pronounced dead.

The cause of death is still unknown.

The driver of the other vehicle, a 53-year-old man, was not injured.

The scene is still active, and SPVM investigators from the Collision Experts Unit are on-site to analyze the scene and determine the circumstances surrounding the event.
