Snow warning for Montreal: Up to 10 cm expected

Several regions in Quebec are bracing for challenging travel conditions at the start of the week as a snow warning is in effect. Environment Canada is forecasting up to 10 centimetres (cm) of snow in areas including Greater Montreal on Monday.

The agency warns that sticky snow could make roads slippery and travel difficult. Snow is expected to begin falling in the afternoon, intensifying into the evening, with reduced visibility at times due to heavy snowfall.

In Montreal, cloudy skies will give way to snow showers, leaving a 5 cm accumulation in temperatures around -1°C.

Similar conditions are expected in central Quebec, including Quebec City, which is forecast to receive 5 to 10 cm of snow. The Eastern Townships and Saguenay will see lighter snow accumulations.

On Tuesday, mainly cloudy in Montreal, and a high near -8°C, feeling like -16°C with the wind chill.

Sunny skies on Wednesday and -11°C. More snow on the way for Thursday, but temperatures much less cold at a mere -1°C.
