Water main break causes road closure in Plateau-Mont-Royal, damages restaurant

A major water main break occurred Saturday morning in the Plateau-Mont-Royal borough.

Emergency services were called to the scene at Brébeuf Street and Mont-Royal Avenue shortly after 5 a.m. on Saturday.

The Montreal police were also called to assist with traffic control in the area.

Three fire trucks were involved in the emergency response operation, which ended at around 9:40 a.m. One vehicle remained on site to monitor the leak.

A restaurant nearby has sustained damages as a result of the incident.
