Measles case detected at Montreal’s Rialto Theatre

A case of the measles has been detected at Montreal’s Rialto Theatre, according to public health.

People who attended the FEVERUP ballet show on February 21 between 8 p.m. and midnight are being asked to isolate themselves if they are not vaccinated against this highly contagious disease.

The number of measles cases continues to rise in Quebec. The virus is spreading among toddlers, but also in places frequented by adults.

In total, 30 cases of measles have been confirmed in Quebec since the outbreak began in mid-December, according to the most recent data from public health.

The Laurentians have the most cases, with 23. Montreal, Laval, and the Montérégie each reporting fewer than five cases so far.

Most of the cases that have been reported are young adults aged between 25 and 35.
