Montreal police are investigating a gunshot fired Wednesday night at a residential building in the Sud-Ouest borough.
Initially, there was a 911 call to the police at around 11:30 p.m. about a possible break-in in an apartment building on Notre-Dame Street West, near George-Vanier Boulevard, in the Little Burgundy neighbourhood.

When police arrived on the scene, they found evidence of a gun having been fired on a rear window of the building as well as a shell casing on the ground, but no trace of a victim, the circumstances of which are still undetermined.
Police reinforcements were mobilized to secure the area, but no one was injured or arrested in the case, according to an SPVM spokesperson.
The investigation is ongoing.
