43-year-old man in hospital after incident near Jean-Talon metro, suspect arrested

A suspect has been arrested following an armed assault in the Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie borough on Saturday evening.

A 43-year-old man was found with serious injuries near Jean-Talon metro station on Boyer St., close to Belanger St. around 8:30 p.m.

The Montreal police spotted the man outside with serious injuries to his upper body, said SPVM spokesman Agent Manuel Couture.

The man was taken to hospital, where his condition was eventually stabilized.

At around 10 p.m., police arrested a 36-year-old man for allegedly using a sharp object. The accused will remain in custody until his appearance in court on Sunday.

The SPVM investigation continues, but the connection between the two individuals and the suspect’s motive remain unknown.
