Shots fired at pastry shop in Montreal’s Little Italy

By News Staff

Several shots were fired at a business in Little Italy on Thursday overnight.

The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning, then at around 6 a.m., Montreal police (SPVM) got a 911 call about shots fired into the windows of the Alati-Caserta pastry shop, located on Dante Street.

When officers arrived, they found bullet holes in the windows of the pastry shop.

“They found some bullet casings on a commercial building,” Mariane Allaire Morin, SPVM spokesperson told CityNews.

“So far we don’t know if there’s a link between those two events, its too early to confirm,” she added, referring to the Thursday fire at Berchicci in Saint-Leonard that is being investigated as a possible arson. “The investigation in both events are just starting.”

No injuries were reported in either incidents, and no arrests have been made so far.

An investigation is ongoing.
