A 26-year-old man faces seven charges in connection to a case where a Longueuil police officer was struck by a vehicle the suspect was reportedly driving in Brossard on Monday – when he is said to have fled the scene of what authorities called a road rage incident.
The officer was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and the man was arrested shortly after.
According to the charge sheet from the Directeur des poursuites criminelles et pénales (DPCP), Jonathan Sereau is facing seven charges: willfully damaging property, two counts of assault with a weapon, assaulting a peace officer with a weapon, assaulting a peace officer causing bodily harm, dangerous operation of a vehicle, and failure to stop after an accident.

It all happened around 1:15 p.m. Monday when officers were called to Grande-Allée and Auteuil Avenue after an accident.
The officer was trying to make contact with one of the victims of the accident when she was struck by a vehicle.
On Wednesday, Sereau was back at the Longueuil court for a bail hearing.
