76-year-old woman dead after being hit by falling tree branch in Montreal

A 76-year-old woman is dead after a tree branch fell on her head Saturday in Côte-Saint-Luc.

The coroner’s office confirmed the death to CityNews Monday, after the woman was previously in hospital in critical condition with a head injury.

“The coroner’s office would like to offer its sincere condolences to the family.”

The woman’s death is being investigated by coroner Mylène Servant.

Firefighters, police officers and paramedics were dispatched to Queen Mary Road, near Macdonald Ave., around 12:50 p.m. When emergency services arrived, the woman was unconscious, and a citizen was performing resuscitation on the victim.
