Montreal Exo commuter trains disrupted multiple times Tuesday amid signaling issues

By News Staff

Further signaling issues were experienced this afternoon at the Lucien-L’Allier station in Montreal after some Exo commuter trains were halted on Tuesday morning due to the same issue.

“The CPKC did experience further signaling problems in the early afternoon and again at around 3:20 p.m.,” Andréanne Gagnon, an exo spokesperson, told CityNews.

“The problem was intermittent during this period,” she added. “But now seems to have been resolved by the CPKC team.”

For the time being, Exo does not anticipate any problems for the evening rush hour, as “everything seems to have stabilized.”

However, they added that delays are possible for departures to Candiac, Saint-Jérôme, and Vaudreuil-Hudson.

Earlier Tuesday

“These problems are not related to the ongoing work at the station,” Gagnon had said earlier this morning, before the first signaling issue was resolved.

CPKC foremen were working to solve the problem.

The Exo explained that trains on line 12-Saint-Jérôme would stop at the Montréal-Ouest station, while trains on lines 11-Vaudreuil/Hudson and 14-Candiac would stop at the Vendôme station.

“As a reminder, these are the same measures that were implemented during the closure of Lucien-L’Allier station for construction,” Gagnon said.

Transit passes were being accepted by the STM at Concorde, Parc and Vendôme metros and for buses at Montréal-Ouest station, the company explained.

They invite customers to follow the service status on the Chrono application.
