A mother of three was allegedly killed by her husband Wednesday afternoon in Châteauguay and he was charged with second-degree murder in her death on Thursday.
Simone Mahan, 45, was a health care worker. She was found lifeless in her home on Jules-Dumouchel street.
Police were dispatched at around 3 p.m. to the scene and it’s reported that one of victim’s children was in the residence at the time.
The woman’s husband – Marcellin Koman Mbo – was arrested in Saint-Stanislas-de-Kostka, about 30 minutes from Châteauguay on Wednesday, shortly after the body was discovered.
He was charged at Salaberry-de-Valleyfield courthouse Thursday afternoon.
According to reports, the pair was in the midst of a possible separation.
This is believed to be the fifth femicide in Quebec this year.
Koman Mbo is expected back in court on May 29.
