SAAQclic fiasco: Gallant commission extended until Dec. 15

By Caroline Plante, The Canadian Press

The Legault government announced Thursday that it has agreed to extend the Gallant Commission investigating the SAAQclic fiasco until Dec. 15, 2025.

Commissioner Denis Gallant was originally due to submit his final report by Sept. 30.

The testimonies have been coming quickly for six weeks, but are far from over.

The commission heard from several former members of the board of directors of the Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ), former internal auditors and a former vice-president of finance. But have yet to hear from the CEOs, the project manager at the heart of the digital shift – Karl Malenfant – or the ministers of the Legault government.
