Quebec cyclist hit by vehicle in critical condition

A cyclist in his 30s is in critical condition following a collision with a car in Havelock, Montérégie.
The accident occurred Saturday morning, shortly before 9:30 a.m., when emergency services were called to the intersection of Duncan Rang and Cohen Road.
The cyclist was traveling southbound on Duncan Rd and did not stop at the intersection. He then apparently slid on the roadway, and that’s when he collided with a woman’s vehicle traveling on Cohen Rd, according to initial information gathered by the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).
The man was taken to a local hospital, where “he is in critical condition ,” explained SQ spokesperson Ève Brochu-Joubert.
The driver suffered no injuries, but was in shock after the impact.
The intersection has been closed to traffic for the duration of the ongoing investigation.
