6-year-old cyclist hit by car in Montreal

A 6-year-old boy was struck by a motorist while riding his bicycle in the Saint-Michel neighborhood of Montreal on Saturday.

Montreal Police Service (SPVM) officers were called to the intersection of 51st Street and Olivia-Légaré Street around 12:30 p.m.

When the police arrived, the child suffered a serious head injury. He was taken to hospital, where he is no longer in critical condition.

A perimeter has been set up to investigate the scene and understand the circumstances of this collision.

Investigators left the scene around 1:45 p.m. and the investigation is ongoing.
