Cyclist run over by a truck in Old Montreal

A cyclist was hit by a semi-truck in Montreal’s Old Port on Thursday morning.
Montreal police (SPVM) received a 911 call at 8 a.m. reporting a collision between an 18-wheeler and a cyclist on des Moulins Street near Quai-Bickerdike Street, just east of Highway 10.
The cyclist is a 28-year-old woman, confirmed Caroline Chèvrefils, spokesperson for the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).
The victim suffered significant injuries to her upper and lower body. The injuries were not life-threatening.
According to initial information from the SPVM, the 68-year-old driver of the truck was travelling northbound when he made a right turn. It was at this moment that he hit the cyclist who was on the bike path.
Witnesses were interviewed by police after the incident. The collision is not considered criminal.
