Man dies after falling from lifting platform in Quebec City

The Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ) announced Monday that a 58-year-old man succumbed to his injuries after falling from a lifting platform in the Duberger Industrial Park area on Friday.
“The accidental theory remains the preferred theory,” the police force stated in a press release.
On Friday morning, SPVQ paramedics and police officers received a call around 8:35 a.m. about an unconscious man outside a commercial building on Léon-Harmel Street. He was then taken to a hospital in critical condition.
“Unfortunately, the man succumbed to his injuries,” the SPVQ reported in a press release issued Monday afternoon.
Investigators, along with the Forensic Identification Unit, responded to the scene to shed light on the circumstances of this incident.
Since the accident occurred in the workplace, the Quebec’s workplace health and safety board was also notified.
