LaSalle bar targeted in overnight shooting, no injuries reported: SPVM

A bar in the LaSalle borough was struck by gunfire overnight, Montreal police (SPVM) say.

Authorities received a 911 call around 1:15 a.m. on Thursday regarding shots fired at an establishment on Thierry Street, near Newman Blvd.

When officers arrived, no victims or suspects were on the scene, but investigators found multiple bullet impacts on the building’s windows, as well as shell casings on the ground.

According to Caroline Chèvrefils, a spokesperson for the SPVM, witness accounts suggest one or more individuals fired at the commercial property before fleeing the area.

The bar was closed at the time of the shooting.
