Teen stabbed in St-Henri, near a high school

A 15-year-old was stabbed near a high school in Montreal’s Saint-Henri on Thursday. He’s expected to survive his injuries.

It happened around lunchtime in an alley in front of École secondaire Saint-Henri, on Saint-Jacques Street.

Montreal Police (SPVM) received 911 calls at 12:10 p.m. about the incident and once on the scene quickly located the boy with injuries to his upper body.

The suspect(s) reportedly fled after the attack and no arrests have been made so far.

Emergency services took the teen to hospital. He was conscious during transport and medical officials say his life is not in danger.

A security perimeter was erected and witnesses were being met by police – while surveillance cameras in the vicinity will be reviewed.

A K9 unit was also deployed to the scene.

Investigators are working to understand the circumstances surrounding this incident.
