Quebec music channel MusiquePlus relaunches on TikTok

By The Canadian Press

Beloved French-Canadian TV channel MusiquePlus is returning — this time on the algorithm.

TikTok announced Wednesday that the Québécois pop culture and music brand will return via the social media app.

MusiquePlus, the Francophone counterpart to MuchMusic, launched in 1986 and became a go-to channel for showing local talent. It went off air in 2019.

A press release says the reborn MusiquePlus will feature a new generation of VJs and creators, with the goal of amplifying Quebec’s creative voices.

The new content will be produced as part of a creative partnership with Quebec-based production company Attraction and Motion Entertainment.

MusiquePlus will launch on TikTok on June 11.

In 2021, MuchMusic relaunched as a social-first platform with a new roster of VJs. It currently has 5.5 million followers on TikTok.

This report by The Canadian Press was first published June 3, 2026.
