Montréal Victoire captain Marie-Philip Poulin awarded honorary doctorate by Bishop’s University

Fresh off a victory parade after bringing home the Walter Cup, Montréal Victoire captain Marie-Philip Poulin received an honorary doctorate from Bishop’s University Saturday.
The honour is yet another feather in the cap of Poulin, a five-time Olympian and a three-time Olympic gold medalist, who also received the Chevalière of the Ordre national du Québec from the Quebec government in 2024.
“Marie-Philip Poulin embodies values that are deeply aligned with the Bishop’s experience: excellence, leadership, humility, and a deep commitment to community,” said Sébastien Lebel-Grenier, Bishop’s University’s principal and vice-chancellor, in a statement.
“She has defined an era of her sport with integrity and an unwavering dedication to her teammates and her community. That she will meet our own Gaiters women’s hockey team following Convocation makes this a particularly meaningful moment for our university.”
Poulin said she was honoured to receive the recognition from the university.
““Hockey has given me opportunities I never could have imagined, but the most meaningful part of the journey has always been the people I’ve shared it with,” she said.
Poulin led the team to victory against the Ottawa Charge 3-1 in the best-of-five Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) final series last month.
