Montreal to repave Camillien-Houde ahead of cycling world championships

The City of Montreal will repave Camillien-Houde Drive this summer as it prepares to host the UCI Road Cycling World Championships in September.

The work is aimed at improving road conditions and reducing hazards posed by potholes for cyclists using the popular route on Mount Royal.

The Ville-Marie borough has awarded a $2.8-million contract for levelling and paving work on Camillien-Houde Drive, from Mount Royal Avenue to the summit near Beaver Lake.

The contract also includes resurfacing work on Notre-Dame Street East between Papineau Avenue and the eastern boundary of the Ville-Marie borough.

Construction is expected to begin at the end of June and be completed by August, ahead of the international cycling competition.

The UCI Road Cycling World Championships will bring elite cyclists from around the world to Montreal and other parts of the region in September.
