Police watchdog sets up command post, seeks witnesses of shooting in Montreal’s Côte-des-Neiges

The provincial police watchdog is seeking witnesses in its probe into last month’s shooting incident in which three people, including a civilian, a police officer and suspect, were killed in Montreal’s Côte-des-Neiges neighbourhood.
Bureau des enquêtes indépendantes (BEI) investigators set up a mobile command post near the corner of Avenue de Courtrai and Décarie Boulevard between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday looking to speak to anyone with information about the incident.
BEI is conducting an independent investigation into incident which triggered an active shooter alert and lockdown of the neighbourhood for several hours.
On June 22, around 11:35 a.m., Montreal police (SPVM) officers responded to a report of an armed individual.
In the shooting incident that followed, SPVM officer Mohamed Lamine Benredouane and civilian Michel Mizrahi as well as the suspect were killed.
The BEI is seeking witnesses or anyone with video footage of the incident.
