1 person hospitalized after teenagers brawl with convenience store employees in Montreal’s Ville-Marie

A group of teenagers brawled with convenience store employees at a gas station injuring a 21-year-old employee in Montreal’s Ville-Marie borough early Friday morning.
Montreal police (SPVM) say several 911 calls were made around 12:30 a.m. reporting a gathering of several dozen teenagers at the intersection of Papineau Street and De Maisonneuve Boulevard, near the Jacques-Cartier Bridge.
Police officers dispersed the crowd of teens, aged between 14 and 19, quickly upon arrival.
According to initial reports, the teens had gathered in the parking lot of a gas station at the intersection and began throwing objects at the convenience store attached to it.
“Some employees reportedly went outside and a confrontation then escalated,” according to SPVM spokesperson Florence Stafford.
Two of the employees were struck by the objects but were not injured. A third employee, a 21-year-old man, was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries sustained during the incident.
No arrests have been made. The investigation is ongoing.
