Montrealers will get a taste this weekend of anticipated delays and detours as the city prepares to host an international cycling competition.
The Grand Prix Cycliste de Montréal takes place on Sunday.
More than 20 streets in the boroughs of Côte-des-Neiges, Outremont and Ville-Marie will be affected by temporary closures or detours during the day on Sunday.

The upcoming UCI Montreal 2026 Road World Championships will force the complete closure of the west side of Park Avenue, Pine Avenue and Mont-Royal Avenue and the west side of Côte-Sainte-Catherine Road, between Mont-Royal Avenue and Park Avenue, until Oct. 4. The east side of these two streets will reopen on Sept. 30.
Highway 40 westbound exits closed
Concrete slab repair work requires closures in the area of Interchange 40 (Metropolitan) and Saint-Michel Boulevard.
Exit 75 of A-19 North, at Saint-Michel Boulevard and Papineau Avenue, will be closed from Friday at 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. on Monday.

An hour later, it will be the turn of Crémazie Boulevard westbound to close one lane out of three, blocking access from Pie-IX and Saint-Michel boulevards to A-40 West. It is due to reopen on Monday at 5 a.m.
Bridges affected
The end of the Honoré-Mercié Bridge, toward the South Shore, will be partially closed from 3 a.m. on Saturday until 5 a.m. on Monday. However, one lane will be accessible.

The Victoria Bridge, which connects Saint-Lambert to Montreal, will remain configured with only one lane in each direction at all times, as of midnight Friday, due to work on Bridge Street. The additional lanes will be accessible again when Bridge Street fully reopens.
The partial closure of one of the three northbound lanes of Highway 25, on the Olivier-Charbonneau Bridge, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, is expected to cause some slowdowns.
Other construction sites
A complete closure is expected on Union Street (between René-Lévesque Boulevard and Belmont Street), Robert-Bourassa Boulevard northbound (between Belmont and Cathcart Streets) and René-Lévesque Boulevard in both directions (between Côte du Beaver Hall and Robert-Bourassa Boulevard), for a good part of the day Saturday and Sunday. These streets, located in the heart of downtown Montreal, will be closed from 4 a.m. to 8 p.m.
A few other obstructions in Greater Montreal will disrupt traffic over the weekend. In Mirabel, the Sir-Wilfrid-Laurier Road (Route 158) will be closed in both directions between the Laurentian Highway (A-15) and Saint-Simon Road, from 9 p.m. on Friday to 5 a.m. on Monday. Detours will be put in place.

Roadway paving work will cause evening and night closures for two weeks in Brossard, on Highway 30 in both directions between the A-10 and Matte Boulevard.
In the event of adverse weather conditions or operational constraints, the work may be cancelled or modified. Check Quebec511.info regularly for current and upcoming traffic disruptions.
