She tested positive Tuesday night.
“Following the guidance from the Peel Public Health and the Public Health Agency of Canada, I will remain in self-isolation and continue to monitor symptoms,” Khera said.
She added her office will be “fully operational” while she and her staff continue to work from home. Khera asks everyone to listen to health officials and “stay home and be kind to one another.
“I remain indebted to the incredible healthcare workers fighting this disease on the frontlines and risking their lives every single day to keep us safe,” she said.
Khera is the first federal lawmaker to have a confirmed case, though others — including the prime minister — have quarantined themselves as a precaution.
Meanwhile, Ontario reported its largest single-day spike in cases for a provincial total of 688.
