Montreal street parking grace period ends Sunday night

MONTREAL (CITYNEWS) – The City of Montreal says the grace period for street parking tickets ends Sunday at midnight.
On March 23, the city decided to postpone the parking restrictions in all Montreal boroughs because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The restrictions, which allow city workers the time to clean the streets, usually take effect April 1. That was extended to May 1, plus an additional grace period.
But now the free ride is over.
Starting Sunday at midnight, drivers who ignore the signs related to street cleaning will be ticketed.
The city also reminds drivers that all expired parking permits are considered valid until further notice.
