Two deaths in Mercier linked to domestic violence: SQ

MONTREAL (CityNews) — Quebec provincial police believe the deaths of two individuals in a town south of Montreal is linked to domestic violence.

A couple was found dead in the town of Mercier on Friday.

The victims were identified as Richard West, 50, and his partner Dyann Serafica-Donaire, 38.

“The crime scene analysis and the information gathered on location suggests this was linked to domestic violence,” said Anik Lamirande of the Surete du Quebec in a release on Saturday.

Autopsies will be completed this week and the coroner is taking over the investigation, according to the SQ.

There have been at least nine killings in Quebec this year that police believe are linked to domestic violence.
