OTTAWA (CityNews) — There was a rare sight Tuesday over the Ottawa River — two zipliners soaring through the air from one province to another.
The cross-provincial zipline Interzip Rogers — 120 feet above the river — opened to the public and saw its first riders make the maiden voyage from Gatineau to Ottawa.
The proceedings began with an opening ceremony at the Zibi site, with local politicians and tourism officials on hand.
Valerie Ducharme and Charles-Armand Turpin took part in the very first ride. They got the honour after donating $27,000 to local charities via an online auction.

Interzip Rogers is open seven days a week.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, anyone desiring to purchase a ticket is asked to pre-select the date and time of the visit.
Interzip Rogers is operating at roughly half capacity for the first few weeks in order to ensure safe operation and compliance with the Ontario and Quebec governments’ public health guidelines. Under normal circumstances, the zipline can accommodate 300 riders per day.
