Stabbing at homeless shelter sends man to hospital in critical condition

MONTREAL (CityNews) ─ A 46-year-old man is in critical condition after being stabbed at a downtown Montreal homeless shelter Tuesday night.

A 26-year-old suspect was arrested on site, according to police.

The SPVM say the incident happened after a conflict between the two men degenerated around 10:30 p.m. inside the Old Brewery Mission.

Officers say the reason for the dispute is not yet known.

Police have spoken to several witnesses, and security footage will be reviewed as an investigation continues.
