Montreal mayoral candidates to participate in English debate today

MONTREAL (CityNews) ─ Three mayoral candidates are taking part in an English-language debate on Thursday, ahead of Montreal’s Nov. 7 municipal election.
Incumbent Valérie Plante (Projet Montreal), former mayor Denis Coderre (Ensemble Montreal) and Balarama Holness (Mouvement Montreal) are participating in the Oct. 28 debate organized by a consortium of English media in Montreal, of which CityNews Montreal is a part.
CityNews Montreal will broadcast the debate from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on television. It will also be livestreamed on our website, Facebook and YouTube page.
The party leaders will debate six topics: housing, public safety, economy, climate crisis, inclusion and transportation.
CityNews Montreal reporter Alyssia Rubertucci will present questions submitted by Montrealers directly to Plante, Coderre and Holness.
The debate will be moderated by Mutsumi Takahashi (CTV News Montreal) and Debra Arbec (CBC Montreal), and hosted by Laura Casella (Global News Montreal).
CityNews Montreal will begin at 5 p.m., exceptionally, on debate night.
