Man dead after shooting in Lachine

A 50-year-old man was shot and killed in Lachine on Sunday night, making it the 33rd homicide on the island of Montreal this year.

Montreal Police say it happened in an apartment on Saint-Joseph Blvd. and Sainte-Marie street, around 8pm.

The victim was found with gunshot wounds in the apartment. His death was confirmed onsite.

Authorities say he is known to police.

A perimeter was setup as the SPVM continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
