In a statement, Vallée’s sons say, “our father was a generous man, deeply human and took full advantage of life. He wanted to live a long time and he had big projects ahead. He was a source of inspiration for so many and left those who were lucky enough to know him, love him, and appreciate his work, with wonderful memories.”
“How Jean-Marc would say: ‘Cut, print, thank you, bye!’”
Details on how the family will celebrate his life will be issued at a future date.
The Montreal native won an Emmy for directing the hit HBO series Big Little Lies, starring Reese Witherspoon. He also earned multiple Oscar nominations for his work on the critically-acclaimed movie Dallas Buyers Club.
