Quebec elementary and high school students will head back to class on Monday.
Premier Francois Legault made it official on Wednesday in a Facebook post, saying public health officials recommended schools maintain the reopening date the government had set in December.
Legault held a news conference later Thursday.

Quebec officials have said students will be required to wear masks at all times inside schools and have access to COVID-19 rapid tests.
Legault says junior colleges and universities can also reopen but they will be given flexibility to adjust to in-person classes.
The premier says about 98 per cent of high school-aged students have received one dose of vaccine while 89 per cent have received two doses. Nearly 60 per cent of elementary school students have received first doses.
“It is very important for children to go back to school, to learn, to find their friends, to find a certain normalcy,” Legault wrote on Wednesday.
