Montreal police respond to shooting, collision, assault on busy weekend

It was a busy weekend for Montreal’s police force as officers responded to calls of a shooting, a collision, and an assault.
Officers say a man was seriously injured after being intentionally hit by a van on Saturday evening in Montreal North.
A call was made to 911 around 10:40 p.m. about a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian at the intersection of Lausanne Avenue and Prieur Street.
When police arrived, the victim, a 43-year-old man, was transported to hospital. He’s now recovering.
The driver of the vehicle, a 28-year-old man, was arrested on the scene and an investigation is ongoing.
Shooting in Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve
Also Saturday evening, a 26-year-old man was shot in the Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve borough. It happened around 7:40 p.m.
Police found the victim at the intersection of Saint-Donat Street and Brouage Street. The man was taken to hospital where’s he’s believed to be in critical condition.
Police believe the man may have shown up at an address expecting to buy an item advertised online but was robbed and attacked instead. No arrests have been made.
Assault at Snowdon metro
Police are also investigating after two public transit officers were assaulted at Snowdon metro station in the Côte-des-Neiges borough.
The STM agents were responding to an incident at around 3:45 p.m. Saturday when they were allegedly attacked. Two suspects – a 43-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman – were arrested.
The two STM agents were treated for minor injuries.
