The Laval regional health authority is tightening rules for hospital visitors amid the sixth wave of COVID-19

As of Tuesday, only one caregiver or visitor per patient will be allowed at the Cité-de-la-Santé Hospital and Jewish Rehabilitation Hospital.

Exception will be made for patients at the end of life or in critical care.

The rules also apply for their residential and long-term care centers.

And this is until further notice.

Recent data shows Laval registered 1,070 COVID-related deaths total since the pandemic began, with 91 in hospital and 6 in intensive care as of April 18.
