Body of mother missing since February found last week, daughter confirms: ‘We love you mom’

Montreal police say they have found the body of Neena Rani Chumber, the mother who went missing from her Ahuntsic-Cartierville home more than two months ago.

The 49-year-old went missing Feb. 17 and had last been seen on surveillance footage walking into Parc des Bateliers, on Gouin Boulevard.

Her daughter Kirandeep Chumber spearheaded the months-long search for her mother. Kirandeep says her mother had been dealing with bouts of depression.

In an Instagram post, Kirandeep says her mother’s body was found on April 17.

“No matter whatever anyone says, you were always a wonderful mother for your three kids,” wrote Kirandeep. “Life is hard but I know wherever you are today, you’re always looking down on us! The universe most loving and wonderful MOTHER ever!! We love you mom.

“I want to thank everyone who reposted and spread the news about her being missing.”

Investigators say the death was not a criminal act.

Police determined the woman left her wallet and phone behind and just drove away on Feb. 17. Her car was later found abandoned with the keys on the seat.
