The Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board (SWLSB) is joining the legal fight against Bill 96.

They voted on Thursday night to join the English Montreal School Board’s challenge of the French language law.

SWLSB believes Bill 96 violates the rights of English-speaking Quebecers in managing and controlling their educational institutions under section 23 of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Even if they agree that the French language must be protected.
