Montreal roads may be bad, but they’re not the worst in Quebec: CAA survey

It’s something that all drivers complain about: potholes.

They look horrible and they can do serious damage to your car. But how bad is the pothole situation in Quebec?

According to a survey done by CAA Quebec, not all roads are as bad as one might think, but a few are in dire need of fixing.

Gatineau took three of the top-10 worst roads in the province, while Quebec City and surrounding towns took up another six spots.

The top five worst roads as voted by CAA Quebec members are:

  • Boulevard de la Gappe – Gatineau
  • Route du Vieux-Moulin – Saint-Isidore
  • Boulevard du Curé-Labelle (Route 117) – Saint-Jérôme
  • Chemin Cook – Gatineau
  • Avenue Sainte-Brigitte – Sainte-Brigitte-de-Laval

In Montreal the roads voted the worst are:

  • Rue Notre-Dame Est
  • Avenue Christophe-Colomb
  • Rue Sherbrooke Est
  • Boulevard de l’Acadie
  • Avenue Papineau

CAA said almost 9,000 votes came in between April 26 and May 26 of this year.
