Severe thunderstorm warning for Montreal area, and some tornado watches

Montreal could be seeing severe thunderstorms Thursday, capable of producing very strong wind gusts, nickel to ping pong ball size hail and heavy rain.
There is also potential for tornados in western Quebec and parts of the Laurentians and Lanaudière.
Environment Canada issuing several warnings, as alerts also went out across the province via cell phones.
Heavy downpours likely to cause flash floods and water pooling on roads.

The weather agency says the combination of hot and humid weather favours the development of thunderstorms.
Montreal felt more like 36°C with the humidex.
Severe thunderstorm watch in effect for:
- Châteauguay – La Prairie area
- Laval area
- Longueuil – Varennes area
- Montreal area
